KIRKUS REVIEW

A book that compares with Shelby Cullom Davis' Your Career in Defense (P. 33) in its survey of jobs for the duration, for the student in school, for the adult. This covers a wider range in that it compares peace time work with parallel war time opportunities, not only in defense work but in the Army, Navy, Marine and Merchant Marine forces; in its analysis of the ways in which to fit individual abilities to best advantage, for vocations now and in the future. The established industries and the defense industries, emergency training, civil service, aircraft, shipbuilding, machines and tools, construction, chemicals -- what kinds of jobs and how to get them. More thorough but not as directly to the point as the previous book.
