KIRKUS REVIEW

This is unique, in that it is a combination of a sound modern presentation of the whys and wherefores of the Bible as we know it, the history of its growth, the historical background of the stories -- with an almost fundamentalist conception of the stories themselves. It should fill a very real need. The 32 plates in full color, by C. E. and H. M. Brook and 35 half tones and line drawings make this an exceptionally handsome gift book and enhance its interest.
