KIRKUS REVIEW

Mac, private investigator, once again is involved in a pretty sordid succession of murder, strip tease racket, phoney religious tracts, gangsterism. Tough doings not very successfully offset by a spot of romance. Mac's mentor, Donavan, of Homicide, connives at some coverup that metes out punishment rightfully to the wrong guys. Chicago setting, ranging from waterfront hideouts to the gold coast.
