GRAY: The Story of a Brave Dog

A dog story in the same vein as Mr. Hinkle's many others (see Tan: A Wild Dog and Wolf A Range Dog) tells the rather slow moving adventures of a stray wolf hound that befriends the cowboys on Jim Hunter's cattle range. Specifically, there is a diabolical bull, Big Hump, that Gray fights and kills rather spectacularly in the end. The sequence of growing friendships and the skirmishns with the bull up to that point make standard western range trotting.
