DEATH AND TAXES

The sins of Chicago's gangland fathers are visited on their newly respectable children in this Loopy mystery which involves a million dollar IOU left over from Prohibition days. Mac, a solitary private eye who has managed to survive rougher treatment (DeadLine 1966 P. 717) gets worked over early in this one and drags himself through to a painful conclusion. A tough tranquilizer.
