CONTEMPORARY THINKING ABOUT JESUS by Thomas . -- Ed. Kepler

CONTEMPORARY THINKING ABOUT JESUS

By

Publisher: Abingdon-Cokesbury

The author, professor of religion at Lawrence College, has compiled an anthology of the writings of modern theologians dealing with the personality of Jesus. The selection includes excerpts from the works of fifty-five scholars, all of whom are well-known to students of theology of the liberal school of Protestantism, such as Marnack, Goodspeed, Case, Moffat, Bacon, Lightfoot, Scott, Cadoux, Brunner, Hough, Niebuhr and Horton. The selections have been grouped topically in five sections: The Nature of the Synoptic Gospels, the Portrait of Jesus in the Fourth Gospel, Jesus' Relationship to History, Eschatology and Ethics, and Modern Evaluation of Jesus. This is distinctly a technical theological book, but of real value to students interested in this field.
