KIRKUS REVIEW

A minimum of straightforward text, in big print, and bold, arresting pictures, in three colors, tell the story of the Bean family's and the firemen's search for the crackle and smoke they were sure was a fire. But all scarey thoughts are put at rest when they discover that the crackle is made by red squirrels, and the smoke by their catmeal running over. Light and amusing for young buffs.
