KIRKUS REVIEW

Formula story by a writer who has held a predictable audience through his long record of output. Wolf, owned by a nester of the ranch country in the northwest, goes off on his own. An enormous beast, he competes with wolves and trappers for a living, until at last he finds the perfect master, an intuitive, patient ranch lad, Dan, with whom-in a finale, Wolf fights off a pack of starving, howling, death-dealing wolves. Sure fire for the Hinkle market.
