Pork's a light locker room anecdote about what happens after the boys in the clubhouse sponsor one six foot six, 260 pound, gym teacher on the Professional Golf Tour. Pork's an oversized blunderbuster and before long he's blowing the early matches along with his money. He's taken in by a gambler and his shapely daughter, and becomes the subject of a good many unfortunate incidents, the object of a number of fines. As he reaches the Masters, a flashy figure in leopard shoes and orchid slacks, he has a chance to redeem himself and salvage his marriage when an impossible feat is converted into an almost legendary defeat.... The book, like Pork, is one of those comic heavies and you'll find it a long course unless golf is your bag.
