CAUTION! INFLAMMABLE!

Scortia, co-author of The Glass Inferno (1974), one of two sources for The Towering Inferno, is as versatile as Theodore Sturgeon claims in his introduction to this wide-ranging sf collection. The moods veer from lyrical to sardonic, appalled to affably amused. There's a computer digesting a set of biblical instructions, a Hell's Angel cloned into equally horny selves of both genders, an old man time-traveling by telephone, an overpopulated world ruled by an insurance company which sells immortality policies. Sometimes unpolished, but full of ideas.
