THE RISEN CHRIST IN THE FATHERS OF THE CHURCH

In line with the present intense activity in the field of christology, this volume is intended to present the main lines of patristic thought on that subject in a convenient form for the student, teacher, and interested layman. The editor's expert hand, in addition to providing a comprehensive general introduction and commentary, has culled what are truly the most important passages from the writings of the patristic age beginning with the Didache and the works of Clement of Rome through the many relevant books of Augustine of Hippo. Particularly well done is the breakdown into subject matter among the fathers cited, which eliminates a problem endemic in such collections--that of overlapping and repetition among the selections. Obviously, this book is published for a limited audience, but it is an audience that will look for the book in all Catholic academic libraries.
