A honeycoated lesson on the diets and occasionally the habits of the owl, deer, mole, and about 20 other animals questioned by a hungry bear in a search for his favorite food. Mrs, Batherman's pictures have an unostentatious panache and her stylized forest backgrounds are sharp and clear, but after the bear's first few encounters readers will become as impatient as he is for the end of the journey. Isn't it funny how many story book bears love honey? Hmmm.
