GUMAN BRAND

The quick, sudden death of a boom mining town shows Sheriff Milo Brand the folly of a five year unrequited love and the consequent clinging to his gambler step-brother, Sam. Lily, Sam's partner in the dance hall business, loves Milo without much success, until Sam's gun crew, scared by the break-up of the town and their business, kill their boss and try to take over the surrounding cattle ranges from decent folks. Then she proves her loyalty, ends up in the right pair of arms. Different in its careful delineation of a man's character.
