A slight, sentimental tale of the love of a man for a horse. Old Dan Gilpin, once top-flight entertainer, has only his wonder horse left, and is destined for small circuses. He encounters the enmity of a country attorney, who is determined to keep his young daughter away from Dan and the horse. He wins -- Dan loses the horse, then buys him back, is accused of a theft, and only at the last is cleared. A simple story, told with warmth and sympathy; not literature, but pleasant reading.
