KIRKUS REVIEW

Here's a new subject for the debunking novelist, -- the white sepulchre of the Chautauqua circuit, advocating purity and uplift, while its members ply their lust and hypocrisy and petty enmities behind the scenes. The story is that of a college professor on tour, of his jealous wife, of the girl in his company whom he loved, and with whom he eventually broke into the realm of radio. The period is 1934 -- the setting the middle western circuit.
