KIRKUS REVIEW

It seems a long time since Burgess has given his young followers stories typical of his own fertile fancy. Now here are some more, with more Peter Rabbit and other animals of woods and countryside, blending fiction and nature fact. The stories are arranged on somewhat the Tanglewood Tales pattern, with connecting links of the storyteller and his young audience between each story.
