The author of Folklore of Capitalism lays the bogy of his bias against Big Business and for Labor, and proves that what he is against is anything that obstructs rather than constructs, whether that anything be Big Business or Labor conspiring to prevent free distribution of goods. His book is right in the financial page headlines; he calls a spade a spade, and gives the background of the whys and wherefores, of the operation of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, in all its ramifications, a living force in today's business, in its effect on standards of living, wages, production, profits. His story goes back fifty years; his theory deals with the need of a free market for distribution of goods in a democracy, whether at war or in peace. A challenging book with a here and now quality.
