KIRKUS REVIEW

Sourdough breads, biscuits, flapjacks, fritters, crepes (!), and waffles, from Jake O'Shaughnessey's, the Seattle restaurant run by Firnstahl. Starter lore for the neophyte, excursions into exotica (sour cream herb bread, black bread) for the initiate. There are also recipes for waffle and pancake accoutrements--syrups, sauces, toppings.
