Uncle Remus is a household word, south of the Mason and Dixon line- and in many a public library story hour the country over. Just how many home firesides beyond these limits know the tales of Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox, Brer Bar, Brer Wolf and the others, which Uncle Remus told a little boy seventy five years and more ago, is a question. The dialect is almost unreadable, without familiarity inbred.
