KIRKUS REVIEW

Detective Knute Severon turned thirty which is more of a landmark than the story in which Dorinda Prescott dies (a burglary victim?). A series of similar crimes leads to a beauty parlor where they might be scalping unwitting clients. Unfortunately the author has to tease the plot along (another policeman's delinquent son and a subsequent suicide, along with Knute's love life). Hardly hair-raising.
