LAZY LAWRENCE MURDERS

Sheriff Peter Bounty tracing down the death of his old friend, Reaper, ex-governor of Texas, on a train from Texas to Mexico, whose passengers and their various concerns weave an intricate web around his investigations. Politics, scandal, hatred, the threat of a murderer on the loose, another death, a mild type of hold-up and quite a bit of padding, obscure the real simplicity of the crimes. The Mexican ""feel"" is excellent throughout -- but the cast of characters is large and confusing and the point by point analysis often repetitious. Good solid fare for the market.
