Tricks on the tracks are obstacles for novice telegrapher, Randall Lonnigan, when Junction proves itself unfriendly to the Pacific Northern Railroad. A ghost that comes to life, two girls, and the Silk Express that Must Go Through are combined with the feuding of Koyner and Jacoby to put Lonnigan in the jackpot and it takes a train holdup and robbery and a blizzard in the mountains to get him out.
