TOURNAMENT TRAIL

The sports novel formula of personal problems involved in and solved by the big game is now often adapted as a framework for the basketball tale, and this is a satisfactory example of a sports story written primarily for the rabid fan. Dave Walters, high school junior and basketball star, leaves Kendall City where his father is basketball coach of the high school, and transfers to Dannburg, a small town team which, to everyone's surprise wins game after game to play for the Indiana State championship against guess whose team. Dave faces the conflict of loyalties squarely and the book ends happily. Plenty of basketball action.
