HUNTING FOR BOYS

Every boy likes to shoot, and every boy wants to be a hunter."" This prejudiced absurdity, Mr. McNally's opening statement, may cause a negative reaction in many readers but will probably pass unnoticed by the avid sportsman determined to learn his craft. The book serves his purpose adequately. Beginning with safety rules pertaining to guns and outdoor behavior, Mr. McNally instructs the novice in learning how to shoot rifles and shotguns, in selecting proper equipment including the basic items of clothing, in cleaning and caring for guns, in the role of hunting dogs. The three fundamental kinds of hunting are explored- small game, big game and waterfowl- and their advantages and special techniques stressed.
