This may seem dated to today's fans, since no team later than the Cardinals of 1942 and the Dodgers of 1941 is included. The selections are made on the basis of polls; only one team is chosen from each franchise, sometimes because of a thrilling fight, sometimes because they were forerunners of baseball dynasty, sometimes because of a glamorous record. This is good baseball.
