Somewhere between a handbook and a late night sermonette, this easy glider, mostly for the spreading middle years, sails pleasantly through main areas of body control -- breathing, diet, posture, and exercise. Although the approach is cheerily low-keyed, guaranteed not to scare the matron into another milk shake, the gentle strictures about watching food, sleep, attitude (...""think of yourself as a superb appliance""), are but a lulling prelude to the book's big Ten Minutes a Day involving exercises. Miss Bent's exercises are based on correct breathing and posture, and encourage continuing self analysis as well as aesthetic experiences. For one is teased on to indulge in: ""Running in a wind, dancing with nobody, swooping across a room..."" Impractical for the Superb Appliance who is built on the lines of a clothes drier, but generally feasible.
