A book of fundamentals for the control when making the prints. The technical controls are adequately substantiated with standard formulae and advice, but the suggestions to pictorialists who presumably lack imagination (the visual symbols in long and specific listings) seem artificial, often absurd. There have been better basic books in the field -- and this would not qualify for the professional. But there are amateurs who are inveterate purchasers of anything.
