FUN WITH FRENCH

Managing to elude most levels of language comprehension because of its haphazard scope, this multi grammar-speller -storybook-suggestion guide never achieves an organized approach to any of its parts. There are fundamental examples of number work and the difference between ""le"" and ""la""; intermediate pronunciation lessons; and more advanced vocabulary usage with key words undefined. There is also a good deal of misleading information, largely through pictures. ""Un pantalon"" for example, is the caption to a pair of boys walking shorts, and many illustrations are fuzzy enough to give rise to misinterpretation at the outset. Presumably designed for the elementary grader learning French, this is often more a hindrance than a help.
