This is the third appearance of that somber grievance collector, Mitch Tobin, which finds him in an accident-prone halfway house for mental patients. Still fighting himself, as well as the animus of an assistant doctor, Mitch also uncovers a resident stowaway who catapults to his death while all the others regress. Although it proves to be a kind of therapy for Mitch, goodness knows Mr. Coe's approach to the ill is neither comforting nor enlightened even if he does work up a pretty original case.
