FELIX FORGETFUL

Felix is introduced as an absentminded type but in this dreamy excursion to Mysterious Island his memory is intact. With a land-of-Nod rationale, the episodes build on his opening experience--seeing in his ""telescope"" a boy with a red, rabbit-shaped balloon. Columbus Fubbel from the planet Bolumbina is first met singing on the Mysterious Island and fits the bill; together they explore the territory, encountering a chatty parrot, Adolph the friendly lion, the Bear family, and the apparent villain Wizard Monkel. There are numerous ""problems"" to face-- a stolen sailor's chest, an intentional puncturing of Columbus' transport balloon, getting rid of the Wizard--generally resolved in rather coy terms. Forgettable.
