LITTLE BUNNY AND THE HUNGRY FOX; LITTLE BUNNY AT THE BEACH

Third and fourth in the Swedish series about Little Bunny, distinguished by Eriksson's lively drawing of figures and gently evocative landscapes. The beach adventure is the stronger of this pair: Big Brother Rabbit warns Little Bunny not to go out too far, but of course she does--and then must be rescued twice before the two decide amiably to play on the beach because it's safer for ""Dolly"" (a toy that looks like a human baby). Eriksson provides a comic sideshow here: two middle-aged rabbits, well-equipped for a cool Scandinavian day at the beach, are busy rearranging their belongings in every picture. The fox chases Little Bunny, but not with much conviction: ""Yum, yum,"" he says, nuzzling her, but she hops, outruns him, and goes home--while he's lucky enough to find sausages falling off a passing truck. Nothing very original here; enjoy Little Bunny at the Beach instead.
