KIRKUS REVIEW

An expansion of the fantasy of the Gremlins and Finellas of this past war, this explores not only their discovery but examines the final result of their constant war against the world of humans. With the British pilots unmasking their activities in World War II, the legions of gremlins go underground to accomplish their Great Plan, watch the outcome of World War III, and with the finish of World War IV come into possession of the earth. But their fate catches up with them, and the world is returned to a precivilization basis. An ably handled piece of imaginative writing, this does not however sustain the level of his earlier book of short stories- Over To You (Reynal & Hitchcock, 1945) but gives in exchange some interesting satire.
