FOR ALL OF OUR LIVES

A slight but skilful novelette, a story of first love and last, with a strong emotional appeal. There is Gillian, 19, modern, idealistic, left-wingish; there is Derek, suave matinee idol, loving genuinely for the first time, and willing to sacrifice himself for the success of the girl. He coaches her, secures a lead part in his big play, and helps her make her part come true -- and then he leaves her -- to success. A sentimental story yes, but a good renter.
