KIRKUS REVIEW

You don't need the text. It just points out some of the many designs that have been worked into the intricate illustrations, and young children will automatically want to do that much-- with elaborations-- themselves. The pictures are all details from a quilt decorated with all varieties of plants and animals cut from scraps of calico prints. The colors are typical of the material; predominantly green and black, every other spread is brightened with yellows and reds. The arrangements of these patterns on patterns have been skillfully done and make this book a pleasant eyeful.
