Early on, the detective needed for this high level case is described as an ""intelligent freak"". A policeman who doesn't look like one must fade into the highest stratosphere of British diplomacy and commercial television to solve a murder that might have been suicide. This must be done with equal parts of sensitive evaluation of people and hard clues. More than occasionally amusing.
