Not a dog story, as I thought in advance, but a life story of a coyote and a good one. Against an authentic factual background of the normal history of a coyote, from his birth and early training, through the processes of self-protection, maintaining of food and shelter, learning to know the ways of man and beast, is told in a good adventure story.
