KIRKUS REVIEW

Informal information on the feeding, mating, nesting and child rearing habits of fifty-two well-known birds, each pictured (twenty-six full-page, full-color), for the child Who wants to identify and understand the birds he sees or learn about significant rarities. The birds are arranged, but not divided, by groups (predators, game, water, songbirds); within the groups each is largely on his own. Not Suited for scientific Study or cumulative learning, but dependable within its limited sphere and illustrated with considerable versimilitude.
