PEAR CAME FIRST

Petticoated puzzlement as Nan, and her husband, revisit Nan's old college reco, Fleur, on a Seattle stopoff and find Fleur distant, difficult, and involuntarily housing a set of frightened, fawning relatives. An unwelcome reception leads to further enigma in two disappearances -- the appearance of Fleur's adopted baby -- an attempt to kill Nan -- and general intra-household hostilities which are checked at the close. Indistinguishable from most.
