KIRKUS REVIEW

I liked this story of the street urchin who had lived by his wits, who made friends with a junk man and found what the next grade of poverty provided. The romantic turn at the end isn't quite up to the first part, but gives a popular fillip to a tale that might be depressing (but isn't).
