A leisurely, undramatic account of the Northern cruise made by the author to Scotland, Iceland, the glaciers of Spitzberg, the North Cape, etc. Comments on the eight hundred passengers, mostly derogatory, on the natives, on the changing scenery, etc. His descriptions lack the vitality evidenced in his fictional works. But his casual and often informative bits about the various countries, historical background, natural phenomena, the life there, may be of interest to some.
