KIRKUS REVIEW

Leaves and Seeds successfully launched this series. Now along comes volume three, Roots. Perhaps I'm wrong but this seems even more enchanting than the other two. There is so much legend and romance to roots, food, seasoning, herbals, love potions, death potions, perfumes, powders, all the lore of Indians, witches and doctors. Let your mind go for a minute. Miss Quinn and Miss Lawson can outdo you no matter how vivid an imagination you have for they have combined knowledge with mythology. Absolutely made for a Christmas for gardeners, maiden aunts, naturalists, etc.
