Because this book is labelled a ""Picture Map Geography"", one looks at its maps first and finds them astoundingly lacking. More interesting maps than these can be found in our daily newspapers and periodicals. These are flat, uninspiring and meaningless. The text is much better than the maps, presenting a lively, varied and interesting picture of these lands, a bit of their history, their legends and their life.
