THE SINGING WIDOW

Less gay than Hush Gabriell but a neat and original frame for murder and body snatching in an old southern home in declining circumstances. Lineup of suspects includes a domineering mother, a drunkard son, a lovelorn millionairess, a medium, hatred and spirit jinzing when young chlorine Mona, widow of a murdered son, and her bar tender friend come to investigate sub-rose. Not strictly Hoyle, but most satisfactory skullduggery.
