THE FLYING POSTMAN by V.H. Drummond

THE FLYING POSTMAN

By

Pub Date: March 25th, 1964
Publisher: Walck

A rather peaked nonsense story about Mr. Musgrove who is a postman in a (very) rural English village and who likes to deliver the mail, by helicopter. He also likes to fly low--over the church steeple--while Mrs. Musgrove makes ""Num! Num!"" pink ice cream. Eventually he is grounded, and loses his route but Mrs. Musgrove finds a new vocation for them both with a neighborhood stand where they can sell her confection. Just a little too much pink ice cream... Watercolor and black and white whimsy-dimsy illustrations by the author. This had an original appearance in 1948 on the Houghton Mifflin list.
