KIRKUS REVIEW

The first volume in a new series, and by the General Editor of the series, designed ""to fill the gap between books of travel-reminiscence...and the little encyclopedias of dates and facts"". Nevertheless, a personal note is sounded by the authors as they present their preferences and facts. Vincent Cronin offers in the present volume brief advice on transport to and in Paris, on hotels; then in paired chapters details half-day sightseeing walks, with a chapter for the first view and for the night life as well. On October 23, The Companion Guide to the Greek Islands and The Companion Guide to Southern France follow.
