KIRKUS REVIEW

Wishful thinking of every normal high school girl -- to ""have a way with boys""- this is the central theme in a story about popular Barbara Gilbert. With Dudley Ames, Kermit Cramer and Chuck Lawlor building up her ego, a summer supposedly dedicated to selling lakefront plots on Cloverleaf Lake, Michigan, goes by on wings. Barbara, from the lofty heights of her newfound maturity ventures on philosophical observations on love and life which had a barbiturate effect on this reader, but may seem earth-shattering to her contemporaries. Her story would build more sympathy were she faced with a few setbacks instead of a steady diet of success.
