KIRKUS REVIEW

Feather boa item, nicely enough done, modern in tone, but conserving the good old principles. A hard, domineering, socially pretentious mother interferes with a girl's one real love, and marries her off to a psychopathic gentleman who ends in a straight jacket. Reno -- the cure -- a not too pleasant job as governess, and then regeneration and reconciliation and a cottage in Maine.
