This is one of the few successful city stories for beginners. Somehow country life seems an easier background than city apartment life. But this is a very natural, might-be-true story of two children and their penthouse life and the occupations and games of a city roof ""back yard"". Then two more children came to live in the penthouse on the next building and things began to happen. Linda, the scarecrow planted among the flowers to keep off the birds, is a unique note. I liked it -- for modern city children.
