UNEXPECTED VERDICT

There is practically nothing unexpected in this routine story of a seventeen-year-old Kansas girl who is faced with the problem of supporting herself and her twelve-year-old brother, when they are suddenly orphaned. A substantial inheritance, a career, the promise of marriage, all materialize over a period of three weeks!-- There are just no ingredients left out of this pie-in-the-sky story except, perhaps, characterization, suspense and theme.
