Octogenarian, in years only, Major General Root stays with the army tradition to back young Lieutenant David Kent against a murder charge, that of his wealthy wife, Hilda. Cousins, a stepmother, stepbrother, and step-uncle, all parasites, have reason to fear and hate her. With the help of a young couple the General foils the county prosecutor and clears David. A little feminine, sentimental, but affable.
